My Christmas preparations are in full speed by now. This weekend I already decorated a small Christmas tree and next week we will get another bigger one. I wanted a small tree to our dining room and a slightly bigger one to the living room :-) I have even made some Christmas decorations myself and quite enjoyed it. Some pictures will follow later...
In Finland Christmas trees are usually brought in and decorated on a Christmas Eve or night before. Gladly here in the Netherlands it is done on or right after
Sinterklaas, which is today :-)
I also could not wait any longer, but had to have some Christmas rice porridge (
riisipuuro) today with cinnamon and sugar. So delicious :-) Finnish tradition is to hide one almond in the porridge and the one who gets it, will have good fortune the following year.
Yesterday we still had plenty of snow, but last night's rain melted most of it... Gladly I took plenty of pictures yesterday :-) I have to say that was one of the heaviest snowfalls I have witnessed in this country. Here's hoping we have at least some snow this Christmas, otherwise it won't feel like a proper Christmas, at least not to a Finn like me :-)
